A spellthief is similar to a Rogue and commonly mistaken for a Beguiler, though the spellthief is much more of a specialist, using magic to fight magic. They are often sent after, or choose to target arcane creatures and casters, having a specialized training against such foes. They have learned a technique for extracting magic from others, absorbing prepared spells, abilities, and even resistances and turning them upon their original caster. A Spellthief is most commonly found within the military as a specialized fighter meant to sabotage any casters on the field, though such rogues are commonly found among the assassins or thieves of their respective guild, always for hire.
It’s common to see a spellthief among the ranks of those in combat against creatures that rely on magic, like the Drow, various fiends, necromancers, cultists, etc. Due to the specialization of a spellthief, it is common to see them in the form of warforged or even androids.
