Human neighbors tell horrific tales of slaughter woven with frightened suspicion when speaking of strix. Strix, however, tell a tale of encroachment and a struggle for land and resources. For ages, humans invaded strix lands fighting bloody battles against the fierce, black-skinned creatures they thought to be winged devils. Over time, strix have developed a hatred for humankind and now fiercely protect their dwindling numbers.
With the appearance of black, winged devils, the strix look quite frightful. They stand and weigh about as much as the average human, with black or grey skin tones and large birdlike wings, they have long pointed ears like elves, and slightly elongated heads with anywhere from snowy white or coal black hair, they have pointed toes and fingers, much like talons that allow them to grip onto branches of trees and such.
Strix are suspicious of other races due to their hatred for humans hunting them to near extinction. As such, they are very nervous about their life, constantly on guard and keeping close to their families and friends. They don’t have large enough numbers to build their own cities, but there are a number of villages that hold a great number of close knit members.
